Ellie Fields

It is often hard to find the words to describe yourself to others. Integrated seems to fit best as it speaks to the way I practice and the life I live. By looking at my resource page you will begin to get a better idea of my interests and what I know works, helps and heals. With my foundations in an undergraduate degree in psychobiology I have always seen people through the lens of mind/body. As a professional counselor I have included energy psychology and the study of the spirit. EMDR, TFT, Reiki, energy work and clinical hypnosis are just some of the pieces I have added to my practice outside of my formal educational. Learning and growing is a never ending process I get excited about and hope to share with you.

Balance is always my personal priority and I am always reaching for it, practicing it daily. Personal nutrition, fitness, wellness, quality sleep, engaging in loving kindness, being inclusive, generous, authentic and honest are all expectations I have of my self. I believe I cannot ask of others what I am not willing to ask of and do in my own life.

I have lived in Nebraska about 15 years now with my roots in Connecticut. I graduated from Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, VA, spent a few years in Atlanta before I found myself in Omaha. I came here to continue my graduate studies in psychobiology at UNO and later transferred into their graduate counseling program. Contributing to the wellness of my community began in college (AIDS Council of Western Virginia) and continues today in my service with ALS in the Heartland assisting them in the development and implementation of a grief support group for those who lost loved ones to ALS. I also get to practice mental health advocacy and activism with the Nebraska Behavioral Health Organization (NABHO). I am currently the President of Omaha’s Association of Private Practice Therapists. I am also associated with the National Board of Certified Counselors, Nebraska Counseling Association, EMDR International Assoc., American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, International Society & Study of Trauma and Dissociation.
